Picture Perfect Day

The day began at top of Kahiltna just below 10K. Lonnie reported a picture perfect day while it was snowing down here in Homer, Alaska where the support team is currently located.

Weather was indeed very favorable for traveling, -15F and wind at about 10mph out of west, it was the day we’ve been waiting for. Lonnie left at 9:30am with 11.2K camp in sights, it was a hard slog but by 4:40pm he had arrived and made camp but not before leaving us a voicemail:
